ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

At Snowy Waters Lodge we understand that our business and activities have an impact on the environment in which we operate. With this in mind we invite and encourage you to join us in our endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint by utilising the conservation and recycling practises we have made available to you during your stay.

Energy Conservation

Over 95% of our lighting uses energy efficient bulbs and all outdoor lights are on timers. We kindly ask you to turn lighting off when not required or when leaving your room. Our central heating system also operates on a timer and for this reason the Lodge and/or Villa may not always be hot enough for t-shirts and shorts. We expect that you have come prepared with warm clothing, however if you are concerned about your room temperature during the night please ask reception for extra blankets.

Chemical and Water Awareness

To assist us in our efforts to conserve water please keep the length of showers to a minimum and operate dishwasher only when full.

Recycling

Courtesy recycling bins are provided outside reception for cardboard, glass, plastic, aluminium and steel cans. Please rinse bottles, flatten cardboard boxes and wrap any broken glass. Reception will happily take care of newspapers, and any food waste can be placed directly into our compost bin behind the gate next to the Lodge spa pool.

Where possible, building and renovation materials such as native timber, windows and paint have been and will continue to be re-used and recycled throughout our ongoing refurbishment programme. In addition to retaining the historic character of our beloved building, this also means we can keep our renovation costs down and in turn keep our costs down to you.

Thank you for joining us in our efforts to make a difference to our environment.
